Public Relations Officer

As a Public Relations Officer (PRO), you will handle all government, immigration, and port-related formalities to ensure compliance with UAE regulations. The role supports smooth crew movements, document processing, and business operations through effective coordination with authorities, ports, and internal teams. In this position, you will report to the Senior Operations Manager and work with the Operations, Logistics, Sales, and Accounts teams. Applicants must have 2–3 years of experience, a valid UAE driving licence, and be available to join immediately.

As a Public Relations Officer (PRO), you will play a vital role in ensuring smooth coordination between the company, government authorities and port-related entities. You will manage all government and immigration formalities related to crew, employees and company operations, ensuring full compliance with UAE regulations. Additionally, you will support daily logistics by handling document processing, license renewals and crew movements, while maintaining efficient communication with internal teams and external agencies. Your role contributes directly to the seamless operation of the company’s shipping activities and upholds its professional reputation with all stakeholders.

  • Process and renew employment visas, residence permits, and other related documents for company staff and vessel crew.
  • Coordinate with UAE government ministries, immigration, and port authorities for all documentation and approvals.
  • Handle crew sign-on/sign-off procedures, including visa arrangements, airport transfers, and accommodation coordination.
  • Administer company trade licenses, chamber of commerce renewals, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Liaise with embassies and consulates to facilitate visa processing and business travel arrangements.
  • Ensure timely collection and delivery of shipping documents, packages and government paperwork.
  • Maintain accurate records of all processed documents, renewals and official transactions.
  • Stay updated on changes to UAE labour, immigration, and maritime regulations to ensure full compliance.
  • Provide professional and efficient assistance to crew and staff regarding government and port procedures.
  • Support daily logistics operations, ensuring safe and punctual transportation of personnel and documents.
  • Strong knowledge of UAE government, immigration, and port procedures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective coordination with authorities, crew and colleagues.
  • High level of professionalism, integrity and confidentiality when handling official documents.
  • Strong organisational and time management abilities to meet tight deadlines.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in completing documentation and record-keeping.
  • Proactive and solution-oriented mindset with the ability to adapt to changing regulations and priorities.
  • A courteous and service-focused attitude, especially when dealing with crew and government representatives.
  • Valid UAE driving license and a commitment to safe and responsible driving practices.
  • Team-oriented approach with flexibility to support various operational needs.
  • In-depth understanding of UAE labour, immigration and port regulations.
  • Proficiency in preparing and processing government documentation and online applications (e.g., MOHRE, GDRFA, ICA, and port portals).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English; Arabic proficiency is an advantage.
  • Excellent coordination and multitasking skills in handling time-sensitive operations.
  • Competence in using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and basic data entry systems.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities in resolving procedural or logistical issues.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and documentation efficiently.
  • Good driving and navigation skills with knowledge of UAE routes and traffic laws.
  • Customer service mindset with a calm and professional demeanour under pressure.
  • At least a High School Certificate or equivalent education.
  • 2–3 years of experience in a similar PRO or government liaison role, preferably within the shipping or logistics industry.
  • Strong knowledge of UAE government, immigration, and port procedures.
  • Valid UAE Driving License
