Senior Operations Executive
Supports shipping operations by ensuring compliance, documentation accuracy and customer requirements. Oversees supplier evaluations, inspections and record-keeping. Manages shipping issues, damages, and lost freight claims while maintaining safety and monitoring customer-supplied property. Support operations team and ensure seamless service delivery. Monitor vessel schedules and coordinate with port authorities, terminals and suppliers.
As a Senior Operations Executive, you will oversee daily shipping operations, ensuring compliance with protocols, documentation, and customer requirements. You will handle supplier evaluations, inspections and record-keeping for quality assurance. Your role includes resolving shipping issues, maintaining safety standards, and monitoring customer-supplied property. You will report to the Senior Operations Manager, support the operations team and coordinate with port authorities, terminals and suppliers. Strong knowledge of all UAE port procedures, regulations and documentation.
- Ensure shipping protocols and documentation meet the requirements
- Review customer requirements and customer correspondence
- Investigate and resolve shipping quality issues, damages and lost freight claims
- Maintain safety standards and procedures
- Ensure supplier evaluations are carried out based on standard procedures
- Ensure purchased products and services are inspected
- Safe-keeping of records related to inspection
- Ensure the control and monitoring of customer-supplied property
- Ensure cargo requirements, tank cleaning and stability are met
- Responsible for ensuring customer satisfaction, resolving complaints in a timely manner and conducting work as per procedures
- Strong understanding of shipping operations, documentation, and compliance requirements
- Experience in supplier evaluations, quality inspections, and record-keeping
- Problem-solving skills to manage shipping issues, including damages and lost freight claims
- Knowledge of safety standards, cargo requirements, and tank cleaning procedures
- Ability to monitor and manage customer-supplied property effectively
- Excellent communication skills to ensure customer satisfaction and resolve concerns promptly
- Strong attention to detail and ability to enforce operations procedures efficiently
- A keen eye for detail and a proactive attitude to help keep operations on track
- Strong communication skills for liaising with various stakeholders
- A willingness to learn and grow within the shipping industry
- A team-orientated approach to supporting different departments and operations
- Graduate of degree level or hold recognised shipping qualifications applicable to the role.
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience in the shipping agency.
- Experience in the shipping, agency operations and logistics industry is a must.
- Excellent knowledge of all UAE Ports and strong background in Shipping Agency Operations.
